Jesus on Cross

Redeemed Among the World United, or R.A.W. United, is a Christian-based powerlifting federation established to support military personnel and their families.

The federation has teamed up with Rear Admiral Hal Pittman of the U.S. Central Command and is inviting federation leaders to unite for the first ever, all RAW, multi-sanctioned, Armed Forces Championships on September 11-12 at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.

The contest will be FREE, and is open to active duty personnel, reservists, guardsmen, and armed forces veterans.  In addition, students attending a military school and/or actively participating in a military program (ROTC, Sea Cadets, etc.) are eligible to compete.

Federation leaders/military lifters interested in learning more can review the proposal by clicking on the soldier above.  Federations must submit the “Letter of Intent to Participate” found in the proposal on or before Saturday, June 12 to be a part of the sanction and support America’s true heroes.  Entry forms and Rules of Performance will be available on June 14.  Questions can be directed to Spero at: rawunitedinc@gmail.com or 321-505-1194.

R.A.W. United is further honored to congratulate our 2009 Lifters of the Year! Eric Talmant, director of the RAW Unity Meet and former Navy Special Operations soldier, is the recipient of the MSG Gary Gordon Memorial Award. Eric will be featured in the April edition of “Power in the Blood,” the federation’s on-line magazine.

Danny Aguirre, a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, is the recipient of the 2009 Mike Witmer Memorial Award.  Danny’s team from Evolved Athletics won the Mixed Team Title at the 2009 National Championships, with several of his lifters capturing Best Lifter honors.  Danny will be interviewed in the May edition of “Power in the Blood.”

Kathleen Audet, an honor student at West Shore Senior High School, is the recipient of the Rev. Milton Simmons Memorial Award. Kathleen is actively involved in her church community, and hopes to pursue a music degree after graduation. Kathleen’s accomplishments both on and off the platform will be discussed in the June edition of “Power in the Blood.”

Eric, Danny, and Kathleen will receive their awards at the 2009 Mike Witmer Memorial Open on June 19-20 at the Jackson Springs Recreation Center in Tampa, Florida. The contest will be filmed by FOX Sports and live-streamed on the internet. Applications can be downloaded from the CONTEST SCHEDULE Page.

Proceeds from all meets sanctioned by R.A.W. United are utilized to support military lifters and their families, sponsor our lifters at the RAW Unity Meet (which serves as our National Championships), and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
